About

Launched in 2013, Jazz on Film Records is a specialist jazz soundtrack label dedicated to creating an in-depth focus on specific themes in the history of Jazz in the Cinema as well as the highest quality CD remastering.

The label is owned by the Jazzwise Magazine writer Selwyn Harris, the co-producer, compiler and annotator of the first two volumes in the highly acclaimed ‘Jazz on Film’ 5-CD box set series (initially based on his regular ‘Jazz on Film’ feature in Jazzwise) that started in 2011 with Film Noir and followed with the release in 2012 of Vol 2 Beat, Square & Cool. He is also the co-owner of the original version of Moochin About, the company that released the first two volumes.

A new volume French New Wave – Original Remastered Jazz on Film Recordings 1957-62 was issued in September 2013, the first release on Jazz on Film Records followed by a second release the following year in November 2014 titled Jazz in Polish Cinema (Out of the Underground 1958-67) which was launched in the Barbican Cinema at the prestigious International London Jazz Festival.
