‘Jazz in Polish Cinema’ boxset release and launch at london jazz festival

Jazz on Film Records announce the new release in November 2014 of a definitive CD Box Set titled Jazz in Polish Cinema (Out of the Underground 1958-67) following our highly acclaimed French New Wave Volume issued in 2013.

A treasure chest of exclusive, some previously unissued classic Polish film soundtracks including the classic Night Train by legendary composers and pianists Krzysztof Komeda  and Andrzej Trzaskowski remastered directly  from the original master tapes with an 80 page in-depth illustrated booklet (As well as Krzysztof Komeda, the set contains first time releases from the likes of trumpeter Tomasz Sta ńko)

The launch will take place on Saturday November 15th 2014 at the Barbican Cinema with a screening of Roman Polanski’s Knife in the Water. The event will be introduced by Jazz on Film Records owner and the box set’s producer, annotator and curator Selwyn Harris with a ‘live’ set from leading young Polish pianist Marcin Masecki, with his own personal interpretation of the Komeda soundtracks on the CDs.
